Lara Lightfoot is an actor, director and performance maker working across theatre, film and television. With over 20 years’ experience, their practice spans acting, devising, directing and producing, underpinned by a strong commitment to collaboration and story-driven work.

Beginning their career in ensemble and devised theatre, Lara developed a performance style that is physically expressive, emotionally grounded, and responsive to the dynamics of live performance. As co-founder of Little Spoon Theatre Co., they produced and performed in multiple successful seasons of independent theatre, and produced the sell-out season of Danny and The Deep Blue Sea, 2014. Their screen credits include Pulse (ABC), Ladies in Black, Tallulah Falls Apart, Starting From… Now!, Sharehouse Zombie Apocalypse, and Intersection, alongside extensive work in independent film and new Australian theatre.

Lara’s work extends beyond performance into directing and theatre-making, with a focus on shaping work that is both rigorous and engaging. They directed Escape Room, nominated for Best in Theatre at the 2024 Sydney Fringe, and were Associate Director on Cowbois, Siren Theatre Co, 2025.

Alongside their creative practice, Lara has over a decade of experience as a professional roleplay and simulated patient actor. This work has refined their improvisational skill, deepened their capacity for nuanced character work, and strengthened their ability to engage with complex, real-world narratives with sensitivity and precision.
